Among international beauty pageants, Miss Grand International is always involved in a lot of scandals and this year is no exception, the biggest scandal of Miss Grand International 2024 is the controversy between Mr. Nawat and the Miss Grand Cambodia organization.

Mr. Nawat's side said that the organization hosting the contest in Cambodia did not fulfill the requirements set by Miss Grand International, so many activities were made up and lacked formality. This is clearly a composite photo because the Miss Grand International 2024 homepage only posted a photo of the crocodile but it was not wearing a sash. Therefore, the actions of the two contestants from Panama and Pakistan were criticized by the audience.

While participating in a contest promoting peace and calling on people to behave in a peaceful manner, the two beauties themselves delved into the conflict between the Miss Grand International board of directors and the organizing unit in Cambodia as well as mocked the Cambodian representative.

As a result, the two girls quickly deleted the controversial photo and apologized to the audience. Miss Grand Pakistan explained that she did not realize that this image could be considered offensive to others, but in fact, she did not want to hurt anyone.

The Panama representative confirmed that she was the victim of the person who created the photo with the intention of insulting Miss Grand Cambodia. When she realized something was wrong, she quickly deleted it and hoped that the audience would not post this photo.

On October 9, the Miss Grand Cambodia organizing committee held a press conference to speak out about the conflicts with Mr. Nawat during the organization of Miss Grand International 2024.

The press conference was attended by Miss Grand Cambodia National Director - Ms. Sokhunthea, Miss Grand Cambodia 2024 - Sotheary Bee. The event lasted nearly 3 hours, was broadcast live on the Miss Grand Cambodia homepage, attracting the attention of the audience.

Ms. Sokhunthea confirmed that the event on the yacht on the evening of October 6 was at Mr. Nawat’s request. Ms. Sokhunthea said that she had arranged another venue, but Mr. Nawat still insisted on getting on the boat and criticized the Cambodian team for not preparing properly.

Besides Ms. Sokhunthea, staff members of the Miss Grand Cambodia organization also spoke out to criticize Mr. Nawat's authoritarianism.

Ms. Sokhunthea also criticized Thai representative - Malin Chara-anan for her behavior of crying at the Thai airport when talking about the noise during the process of participating in the Miss Grand International 2024 contest in Cambodia.

She said that Malin Chara-anan lied to the media about the incident on the yacht. Ms. Sokhunthea also said that the Thai beauty was fake when she filmed a video of herself dancing as soon as she returned to Thailand, but when she met the media, she cried and looked pitiful.

As for Mr. Nawat, after returning to Thailand, he livestreamed to talk about the incident. He said that from the beginning of the competition, the Cambodian side did not arrange for anyone to welcome the contestants at the airport.

At the sash ceremony, the organizers promised to arrange a Lamborghini and a photo backdrop, but none were available. At the contestant welcoming ceremony, the organizers promised the presence of the Minister of Tourism and many beauty fans, but in the end, no one showed up.
