Both were arrested on "suspicion of importing marijuana and paraphernalia for the use of marijuana."

Gigi and her friend were taken to the Prisoners Detention Centre and later released on bail pending prosecution, local Cayman newspaper Marl Road reported. In court on Jan. 12, Gigi and Leah were fined $1,000 and not convicted on their records.

Cannabis has been legal in the health system in the Cayman Islands since 2017. Her record remains clean and she now enjoys the rest of her time on the island."
