Ed Sheeran has become the focus of criticism for abruptly canceling his concert at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium less than an hour before the show was scheduled to start. The concert cancellation was announced by the singer on his personal website.

"I can't believe I have to say this but there were some challenges in the preparation of the Vegas show that prevented us from continuing the show. I'm so sorry, I know people have come here and I wish I could change it," Sheeran said of the reason for canceling the show just before G-hour.

Although the singer insisted the concert would be postponed until October and all tickets were valid, it was still unable to appease the anger of the audience here. Many people were frustrated and criticized Ed Sheeran and the organizers for making them wait in line for hours in the 38-degree heat.

Many people even fainted and vomited when they had to wait in line for so long with so many people around. In return, they were notified that the concert had been canceled. "Obviously I'm very happy with the result and it doesn't look like I need to retire anymore," the singer said after announcing that he would give up music if he lost the case, "But, I'm very disappointed that baseless claims like this have been made in court. We spent the last 8 years just talking about 2 songs with lyrics, melodies, and 4 significantly different chords. Those are the chords used daily by musicians all over the world."

"These baseless claims are promoted by individuals claiming to be music analysts," Ed continued.

Thinking Out Loud was one of the biggest hits of Ed Sheeran's career, earning him the prestigious Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 2016. A year later, Ed Townsend's family, including his daughter Kathryn and sister Eline, filed a lawsuit, alleging that the British singer illegally copied the classic Let's Get It On, including chord development.
