Rapper Travis Scott's Utopia concert saw a horrific incident where at least 60 people were injured by pepper spray, and a boy fell from a 4-meter-high wall to the ground. Especially signs of influence on the ancient monuments of Italy.
CNN recently reported that at least 60 people were injured â needing help from medical personnel â after being pepper-sprayed while attending Travis Scott's Utopia concert. More disturbingly, a boy fell from a 4-meter-high wall to the ground in an attempt to climb the wall to watch a free concert.
It is known that this concert of Travis Scott is held at the historical site of Italy - the Cirucs Maximus racecourse. Earlier, the concert at Circus Maximus was announced to sell tickets very quickly - on August 1 but more than 70,000 tickets were sold. The event comes as the "ghost" of Travis Scott's horrific stampede tragedy at the ASTROWORLD music festival has not yet completely subsided.
According to CNN, the director of the world-famous historical site - Colosseum (Rome, Italy) has called for a halt to the organization of music nights at the Circus Maximus racecourse. The director said: "Circus Maximus is a historical site, not a stadium or concert venue. Ballet or opera performances should only be held in lawn areas. And such huge rock nights put the monument in danger, including the nearby Palatine Hill!" .
The call stemmed from fears of a man-made earthquake by the audience attending Travis Scott's concert. Specifically, at 10:30 pm (local time), a large number of Rome residents simultaneously posted on social media with the message: "Do people feel the earthquake?"
CNN's resident correspondent in Rome said the shaking didn't come from natural causes, but from tens of thousands of people dancing excitedly at the concert â especially the moment Kanye West appeared on Travis Scott's stage as a special guest.
The historic area has suddenly become a favorite performance venue for many international stars because of its special value, including Imagine Dragons, Guns N' Roses, Bruce Springteen and the latest Travis Scott.
This isn't the first time Travis Scott's concert has had unexpected happenings. Previously, Eonline reported that a viewer named Manuel Souza filed a lawsuit in the Harris District Court in Houston, Texas, seeking responsibility and compensation from Travis Scott and the organizers for the accident on the evening of November 5, 2021.
He said he suffered serious injuries after being shoved and trampled on his body by a group of spectators. This viewer thinks the accident could have been prevented if the show had ensured safety rules.
Another viewer, Kristian Paredes, also filed a lawsuit against Travis Scott and related companies. He also added rapper Drake's name to the lawsuit, arguing that he was also responsible for being on stage with Scott when the accident occurred.
According to the NY Times, about 50,000 spectators gathered in Travis Scott's hometown Houston to watch him perform during the concert of the Astroworld tour. The incident occurred as the crowd jostled to get closer to the stage. The incident left about 10 people dead and hundreds injured.
From the videos of the audience, many people shouted for help when the shoving occurred, but others did not recognize the accident. On stage, Scott appealed to viewers to enthusiastically respond to the show: " I want to see angry acts. Who wants to see anger?" Moments later, the singer saw the ambulance and continued: " There was an ambulance in the crowd. It was unexpected."
In connection with this incident, on June 30, Harris County Circuit Court confirmed that Travis Scott did not need to be held responsible for what happened at the Astroworld festival. Shortly after the information was posted, the rapper's lawyer spoke out, insisting it was a "reasonable" decision.
The Houston Police Department later held a press conference to further explain its decision to dismiss criminal charges against the 32-year-old artist. "To be clear, this is not a mob stampede. This was a slow compression process, which led to a collapse in the crowd in a very small part of a large area," police said.
As such, performers like Travis Scott can hardly know what's happening in this part of the area. At that time, Travis Scott faced a series of criticism and backlash from fans, and the music-loving community.
Despite immediately providing compensation to the victims and funeral expenses, this action of the rapper is not enough for the families of the victims. After the recent incident at the Cirucs Maximus racecourse, the wave of fan outrage continued to explode.
