A source close to the Pitt family told People that the actor's children have not spent much time with their paternal family in recent years. The insider said the six children have rarely visited their paternal grandparents in the past five years.

The Daily Mail also quoted a source saying that Brad Pitt's parents, William and Jane Pitt, were heartbroken when their grandchildren were separated. "Brad Pitt's parents have not been able to see their beloved grandchildren for about eight years because of the divorce and the long legal battle between Brad and Angelina.
