With the release of the super hit " APT.", Bruno Mars and Rosé became the most beloved couple in the music industry last year. Recently, their "brainchild" has reaped admirable achievements.
Bruno Mars and Rosé are making history with their duet "APT.", which continues to reign at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a ninth non-consecutive week. It's also the longest-running No. 1 duet since Elton John and Dua Lipa's "Cold Heart" (PNAU Remix) held the title for 10 weeks in 2020-2021.
The milestone played a major role in cementing "APT." as one of the decade's most iconic duets, holding its own against fierce competition from Gracie Abrams's soulful title track "That's So True" and Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" (which enjoyed a brief resurgence during the holiday season).
Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter is also celebrating a milestone with her album Short n' Sweet, which has now spent nine non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, making it the longest-running No. 1 album by a female artist since Taylor Swift's 1989 (Taylor's Version) held the position for 14 weeks in 2023-2024.
Not counting Taylor Swift's catalog, Sabrina Carpenter's feat is unmatched by any female solo artist since Adele's 21, which spent an incredible 32 weeks at No. 1 in 2010â11.
The only recent album to have a longer run by a female artist is Lady Gaga's "A Star Is Born" soundtrack, credited with Bradley Cooper, which spent 11 weeks at No. 1 in 2018â19. Sabrina Carpenter's success with "Short n' Sweet" is a testament to the young singer's growing dominance in the global pop scene.
The ARIA Singles Chart is also highlighting some emerging talent this week, with British DJ Chrystal breaking into the Top 10 for the first time with her remix of "The Days" (Notion Remix), jumping from No. 18 to No. 7.
SZA, meanwhile, continues to thrive with "BMF," a new track from the new Lana version of her 2022 album SOS. The song rises from No. 27 to No. 17 as the album SOS itself remains firmly at No. 2 on the Albums Chart.
Morgan Wallen makes waves on the Singles Chart with his latest release, "Smile," which debuts at No. 36. The track is the third single from the country singer's upcoming fourth album, marking his seventh Top 50 hit in Australia. It also adds to the 9x native's growing country-pop catalog, which includes chart-toppers like "Last Night" and "I Had Some Help" featuring Post Malone.
On the Albums Chart, Lil Bab.y's "Wham" debuted at No. 42, becoming the singer's third solo album to chart in Australia. Previous albums include "My Turn" (No. 20 in 2020) and "It's Only Me" (No. 7 in 2022), along with his collaborative effort with Lil Durk, "The Voice Of The Heroes" (No. 20 in 2021).
Back to Bruno Mars, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), his and Rosé's "APT." has been certified platinum, marking over 1 million units sold and streams. According to Koreaboo, the song was successful and widely recognized thanks to its catchy melody and memorable lyrics.
"APT." is taken from the solo album released on December 6, 2024, titled "rosie" by BLACKPINK's main vocalist, inspired by the popular Korean drinking game called Apartment. The Korean pronunciation of "Apartment" is "apateu" which is kept intact and repeated throughout, making an impression on the audience from the first listen.
