Green onion milk tea seems to be only a dish made to catch views on social networks, but recently, this "unique" drink has officially been opened for sale. Young people are also quick to buy and enjoy and all share the same "chilling" ending.
Recently, a milk tea shop in Ho Chi Minh City has launched a new drink called green onion milk tea. Immediately, this new dish quickly received attention on social media sites. Instead of toppings of pearls or fruits like regular milk tea, this milk tea is topped with short-cut green onions.
Many netizens were stunned, saying, "What does it feel like to drink? Is it dead, but I'm a little scared...", "Although I like both green onions and milk tea, this combination does not seem very good".
It seems to be just a celebration of the upcoming April Fool's Day and surely the pubs do not dare to sell this drink because this is not a good combination. However, today, a series of TikTokers have posted a review clip of green onion milk tea that continues to stimulate the curiosity of the online community.
Accordingly, the cups of milk tea full topping cost 49,000 VND, when bought at the shop, they will be kept separately from milk tea, cheese jelly topping, pearls to 1 part raw green onion.
After boldly trying the taste, many TikTokers were shocked to share their feelings that it pungently smelled of green onions, mixed with the taste of sweet and fatty milk tea, overall it was very odd to imagine that I could drink this water.
Under the comment section of the review clips, the online community also commented very excitedly. Many people said that just looking made many people run away, after watching the reviewers struggle to experience with unstable expressions, viewers were even more "chilled" with that unique milk tea.
However, some young people also added that this is still just a way to joke with customers of the water bar on April Fool's Day. In fact, when buying green onion milk tea, customers will be given a package of shrimp noodles. Milk tea with pearl toppings, cheese jelly is for drinking and green onions are mainly served with noodles.
Although it is just a joke, but for the association that cannot eat green onions, this is still their terrible obsession on April Fool's Day.
In fact, this drink is not completely new, because in China, green onion milk tea has been launched for the past few years, but in Vietnam, this seems to be the first time.
This drink was devised by a grilled fish shop. Diners who visit the grilled fish restaurant for a certain period of time will be able to buy small-sized green onion milk tea for 6.6 yuan (about 22,000 VND/glass).
Green onion milk tea is just a side dish to sell with grilled green onion fish, one of the highlights of summer in Chengdu. Many Chinese people think that seeing grilled fish selling onions a lot is a sign that spring is coming, summer is coming, because this is the time when fish meat becomes fatty, tasty and sweetest in Sichuan.
If in China, the main ingredient of green onion milk tea is matcha, combining milk and whipping cream and then sprinkling a little finely chopped green onion on the top, in Vietnam, traditional milk tea, accompanied by toppings (cheese jelly, taproot, pearls ...) and quite a lot of green onions.
Many young people are curious and want to enjoy this unique combination, so they buy it to drink. Most people comment that the taste of milk tea is not too special, it is quite difficult to drink because of the pungentness of onions, for those who hate onions or cannot tolerate the smell of green onions, this will be a "nightmare drink" for them.
However, this drink is still causing a fever on social networking sites and is sought after by many people.
