Tiktoker Manh Tien Khoi's comments about the charity banner have caused a stir in public opinion. Many people criticized his statement as thoughtless and biased. Manh Tien Khoi was criticized for his thoughtless statement about charity.
Nearly a week after the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) publicly disclosed the statement of donations for typhoon No. 3, the issue of "covering" charity money has not yet calmed down. The most controversial issue is the "covering" of donations, with some people only transferring 100k but "magically" turning it into tens, even hundreds of millions to "make a scene".
Notably, the story of BTT, a TikToker with 3.1 million followers, was accused of showing off a "fake bill" for charity. Accordingly, on September 11, the girl showed off a bill transferring 50 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front and her father also proudly shared it on Facebook. But when tens of thousands of statements were published, netizens "checked" and found out that the real amount that BTT had donated was 10 million VND, not 50 million as she had boasted. Therefore, many people went to her personal page and left comments opposing this action. After that, BTT admitted to faking the bill, apologized for her immature actions and donated an additional 50 million to remedy the consequences.
In response to this incident, Manh Tien Khoi, a TikToker with 5.1 million followers, commented: "Hey, it turns out that you guys don't support 1 cent or contribute in the form of effort and labor, but you like to be petty with those who are just posters." This comment immediately caused controversy, causing Manh Tien Khoi to be strongly opposed.
Many people believe that although the amount of money donated is not the main issue, cheating in charity to "show off" is something that should be criticized. Some harsh comments include: "Donating a little but reporting a lot is a scam!", "Not famous but want to be famous?", "The statement is too thoughtless."
Immediately, many people disagreed with Manh Tien Khoi, saying that this statement was one-sided. In the face of strong opposition, Manh Tien Khoi posted a status on his personal page, not hesitating to refute: "Without confirming the truth from one side making up stories, explaining too much is useless." At the same time, he also deleted his previous comment under BTT's post. However, Khoi's reaction did not lessen the criticism from public opinion.
Despite facing mixed opinions, the male TikToker continues his charity work. He constantly updates photos and videos while supporting people affected by floods in the northern provinces of Bac Giang, Lao Cai and Ha Giang.
Previously, Manh Tien Khoi also received many criticisms for "pretending" when doing charity work. The images of him standing in the water instead of getting on a boat made netizens skeptical about his charitable motives. In response, Khoi confidently replied: "I weigh 80kg, getting on a boat will sink me! So I will personally bring the goods to the people."
