Duc Tien's wife was accused of 'robbery', 'evidence' was released to counterattack, mother-in-law 'put on the brakes'?

The inheritance dispute between Nguyen Binh Phuong – wife of the late actor Duc Tien, and his biological mother has become the focus of public attention in recent times.

The late actor Duc Tien's wife announced: "Binh Phuong would like to inform that Meo's grandmother's side has filed a request to postpone the trial date of October 13. Therefore, the court date will be moved to another day." This decision once again attracted public attention because the incident has lasted for many months since the male artist passed away in May 2024 in the US, but has not yet reached a final conclusion.

After Duc Tien's sudden passing, a conflict arose between his wife and his biological mother regarding the division of property. Although both sides expressed their desire to resolve the matter peacefully, serious differences of opinion made the matter increasingly complicated and had to be brought to court.

According to the petition filed by Miss Nguyen Binh Phuong, the late actress Duc Tien made a will in the US. In the will, she was designated as the beneficiary of the property ownership rights in Vietnam. At the same time, the late actress's mother was also entitled to a portion of the inheritance worth more than 666 million VND. However, to date, the division of assets has not been carried out in accordance with the will.

On the contrary, the mother of the late actor Duc Tien filed a counterclaim with the court, requesting that the legality and validity of the will made on August 9, 2023 in the US be rejected. She argued that the house in Linh Dong ward (Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city) is a joint property formed from the contributions of mother and son. For this reason, she requested to receive 50% of the value of the real estate.

The late actor's mother said that the house was bought by her and her son in 2009. She explained that due to her old age, poor health and lack of legal knowledge, at that time she agreed to let Duc Tien have his name on all the assets to facilitate transactions and administrative procedures.

Before the scheduled trial, the court conducted several mediation sessions between the two parties but all were unsuccessful. At these sessions, the total value of the disputed real estate was also publicly assessed, with a total of more than 7.2 billion VND.

Sharing in a program, Binh Phuong expressed her indignation at being misunderstood by the public and made up on social media as a bad daughter-in-law, trying to seize her mother-in-law's property. She admitted: "Actually, my mother (Duc Tien's mother) and I have talked to each other but we still haven't found a common voice."

Binh Phuong analyzed the difference in views: "From my mother's side, she believes that Duc Tien's assets are also hers, so she should keep them and not divide them among Tien's siblings. My point of view is that everything must be divided among everyone, including the wife, children, and siblings in the family."

Regarding the house in Thu Duc, she affirmed that the valuation of 14 billion VND was not made by her but was done by a professional valuation company. Binh Phuong further explained the content of the will and the intention of her late husband: "In the will, Mr. Tien did not leave that house to his mother because he had already divided the property to her before. Mr. Tien himself also put that house up for sale in 2023 and got his mother's consent before putting it up for sale. That is, Mr. Tien had taken care of everything for his mother before putting the house up for sale."

This inheritance dispute is still a mystery, attracting public attention and is expected to soon have a final verdict from the court.
