My Tam has the upper hand over Tran Thanh, the movie Tai is favored over Rabbit!

The March box office made waves when Tran Thanh's "king" was threatened by My Tam. Instead of being silent, the director of the movie "Rabbit!" immediately launched a "dangerous" counterattack, making social networks tip their hats to the ability to turn the situation around bravely.
The rise of "Tai" and the end of the series of days of dominance
After nearly three weeks of "making it rain and wind" and monopolizing the No. 1 position, the movie Rabbit! of Tran Thanh for the first time tasted failure in terms of daily revenue. According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam as of March 6, the Tai project – a film directed by Mai Tai Phan and produced by My Tam – has officially broken through. With nearly 3,000 screenings, Tai quickly earned about 5 billion VND in a day, pushing Rabbit! to second place with a more modest revenue of 2.9 billion VND.
Tai's rise is not too surprising when the film possesses a powerful combination of the name My Tam and the new color of action in the West of the river. The story of a man who mistakenly tries to rebuild his life in the midst of a debt spiral has become a "dish" that changes the audience's taste after the Tet movie season is full of psychological drama. Owning a strong cast such as Hong Anh, Hanh Thuy and My Tam's coolness has helped Tai become the most annoying "roadblocker" that Tran Thanh has ever faced.
Cinetour "weapons" and tactics to "take advantage" of March 8
However, if anyone thinks that Tran Thanh will accept to give in, it is a mistake. As soon as the No. 1 position was shaken, the "trillion" male director immediately launched a sharp counter-attack promotional campaign. Taking full advantage of the International Women's Day on March 8, Tran Thanh announced a dense cinetour schedule on March 7 and 8. This is considered his familiar but always effective "trick": using the direct appearance of the stars to stimulate the audience and dominate discussions on social networks.
Not stopping at direct exchange, Rabbit crew! also released a series of behind-the-scenes videos, expensive cuts and soundtracks (OSTs) to maintain the heat. This "long-lasting rain" tactic helps the film not to be washed away in the middle of the opponent's media storm. The participation of young actors such as LyLy, Van Mai Huong, Phap Kieu... continue to be thoroughly exploited to attract Gen Z customers – who are capable of creating the strongest trends today.
The race of 450 billion VND and the bravery of the box office king
Although temporarily surpassed in terms of daily revenue, overall, Rabbit! is still a real "monster" with more than 421 billion VND and 5 million tickets sold. Experts say that the fact that a film slows down after more than half a month in theaters is an inevitable law of the market. However, Tran Thanh's "high-handed" move shows that he not only wants to stop at the current number but is heading towards the milestone of 450 billion VND – a figure that is enough to firmly consolidate his position in the history of Vietnamese cinema.
The race between My Tam's strong action rookie on the one hand and Tran Thanh's solid psychological empire on the other side is making the Vietnamese box office more exciting than ever. This fair and tactical competition not only benefits the audience but also shows the maturity of the A-list stars.
The movie My Tam defeated Tran Thanh, Mai Tai Phan declared that they were just friends?
Đình Như14:07:52 06/03/2026As of noon on March 6, the film has earned about 13.9 billion VND from early screenings and pre-booked tickets. This number helps the work temporarily top the daily revenue chart at the Vietnamese box office.
