At the age of 59, the "king of reform" Kim Tu Long surprised when he appeared on the list of nominations for Best Actor at the 2025 Blue Star Awards. This is a special mark when the artist first tried his hand at the online film genre.

On the afternoon of December 3, the Organizing Committee of the 12th Green Star Awards officially announced the list of nominees. Artist Kim Tu Long became the focus when appearing in two important categories: Most Favorite Actor (voted by the audience) and Best Actor (Dot Art Council).

This achievement recognizes his efforts through two roles: Mr. Phan in Loving Each Other on a Warm Sunny Day and the character of Fish in Cocoon Fish Chooses a Husband. Not stopping there, both projects with his participation were nominated for "Best Network Movie".

Sharing at the launch event on December 2, Kim Tu Long could not hide his excitement: "I have participated in hundreds of Cai Luong films, but Web Drama is a completely new experience. Receiving the support of the audience and evaluation from experts in this field is a great happiness."

The combination with "stage lover" Ngoc Huyen

Artist Kim Tu Long was born in 1966, in Ho Chi Minh City, used to be an actor in singing troupes such as Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong troupe, Huynh Long, Minh To, Song Be troupe. The artist has won many awards, including the gold medal of the 1995 National Professional Theater Festival. The motivation to bring Kim Tu Long to online films was the invitation from artist Ngoc Huyen – a close co-star for decades. According to the artist, when Ngoc Huyen invested in production and proposed, he agreed immediately without hesitation.

On the set, the chemistry from the Cai Luong stage was smoothly transformed by the two into the cinematic lens. Kim Tu Long said that he not only brings seasoned experience to the role but also learns a lot of fresh energy from young colleagues to keep up with the rhythm of modern films.

The 12th season recorded a record number of nominations up to 741 applications for 4 major categories. In the Cinema segment, cult names such as Prince Bac Lieu, Tunnel, Sister-in-law are creating great heat. Notably, the two "trillion" directors, Tran Thanh and Ly Hai, were both absent from this season for the reason that they felt unsuitable or not ready to participate in the competition.

In the Television segment, the audience will witness the confrontation between outstanding works such as Female Ghost Tea, The Jade Necklace or The Adulterer's Argument.

This year's Arts Council brings together prestigious faces such as journalist Hoang Tuan, director Le Hoang, People's Artist Kim Xuan and director Kawai Tuan Anh. With rigorous appraisal from expertise and heat from the audience's voting, the award promises to find the most deserving owners.
