The US has just responded to allegations that Russia shared intelligence data with Iran to attack Washington's targets. Officials from both sides have held numerous high-level discussions to clarify this attention-grabbing information.
In recent days, international attention has been particularly focused on reports suggesting that Russia may have shared intelligence data with Iran to assist Tehran in attacking US targets. However, Washington has stated that Moscow has completely denied this accusation in recent diplomatic exchanges.
According to The Hill, on March 10, US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff confirmed that Russia had officially denied providing intelligence data to Iran. Previous suspicions revolved around the possibility that Moscow shared the coordinates of US weapons systems so that Tehran could carry out attacks.
Speaking on CNBC, Witkoff said Washington had been in direct contact with Russia to clarify the issue. According to him, Moscow had issued a clear denial in high-level communications between the two sides.
Mr. Witkoff shared: "I can tell you that yesterday, in the call with President Donald Trump, the Russian side said that they did not share anything. That's what they said. So we can believe them, that's what they said."
According to the US envoy, this statement was made in the context of Washington closely monitoring developments related to the military relationship between Russia and Iran. However, he also acknowledged that US agencies remain cautious about making diplomatic commitments.
In addition to the exchange with the US President, the Russian side reiterated a similar message in another meeting. Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov reportedly reaffirmed this position when meeting with Jared Kushner and Witkoff.
While acknowledging the commitments from Moscow, Witkoff remained cautious, adding: "Let's hope they don't actually share."
Meanwhile, statements from Iran have drawn considerable attention. In an interview with NBC News, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged that a certain degree of military cooperation exists between Tehran and Moscow.
"Yes, they are helping us in various ways," said Mr. Araghchi. "I don't have the details."
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly expressed his support for Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who is widely expected to succeed Ali Khamenei. Putin's statement is seen as a sign that Russia continues to maintain close relations with Tehran.
The Russian leader affirmed: "For my part, I want to reaffirm our firm support for Tehran and solidarity with our Iranian friends. Russia has been and will continue to be a reliable partner of the Islamic Republic."
Meanwhile, the Pentagon also issued a statement to reassure the public amid concerns about the possibility of Russia interfering more deeply in the region. US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth emphasized that Washington remains in good control of the situation.
He told CBS News, "No one is putting us in danger." According to Hegseth, U.S. military commanders have considered various scenarios and are prepared to deploy necessary measures to mitigate risks should the situation escalate.
On the Russian side, the Kremlin on March 10 refused to confirm whether the US had sent a warning demanding Moscow stop sharing intelligence with Iran. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov only revealed that communication channels between the two countries are still being maintained regularly.
