Jisoo's old stories were dug up at the end of the year. Is she not as gentle as many people imagine?

Last week, Jisoo (BLACKPINK) appeared at the HELLO KITTY x JISOO pop-up event in Seoul, showcasing her familiar sweet image in a white lace mini dress with a feminine silhouette, giving off a fresh and adorable vibe.
The event had already garnered attention thanks to the appeal of the Hello Kitty brand and Jisoo's fame, so the moment the idol appeared immediately became the focus of discussion among netizens.
The dress Jisoo wore was quickly confirmed to be from OnOnMM, a Vietnamese fashion brand that has collaborated with BLACKPINK in general and Jisoo in particular, as well as other prominent Asian figures like Nana and Lingling Kwong. For the domestic fashion industry, the appearance of a Vietnamese brand in the wardrobe of a global K-pop idol like Jisoo is always a significant media boost, especially in a context where Vietnamese fashion is rarely associated with major international names.
The moment Jisoo wore an OnOnMM dress immediately garnered significant attention from the international fan community. Under the brand's posts, fans continuously inquired about product information and prices, a familiar scenario whenever BLACKPINK "dressed up." This effect partly demonstrates Jisoo's strong influence as one of the most influential idols in Asia, while also opening up opportunities to access a new market for a young brand from Vietnam.
However, just a few days after the positive effect, the story began to take a different turn when posts appeared on domestic social media questioning the origin of the design Jisoo was wearing. The OnOnMM dress was compared to a design from SHUSHU/TONG – a globally renowned brand from China. From this point on, sensitive keywords such as "plagiarism" and "fake" began appearing alongside Jisoo's name on social media, causing many fans to feel uncomfortable about the idol being dragged into a controversy she had no connection to.
One viewpoint argues that associating Jisoo with this controversy is unfair and even damaging to the idol's image. Conversely, there are also criticisms of OnOnMM for allegedly copying too much from SHUSHU/TONG, leading to negative reactions from some fashion enthusiasts. The debate is heated across both Vietnamese and international online communities, with most focusing on the design aspect rather than Jisoo personally.
When placing the two designs side-by-side, the similarities are undeniable. From the A-line mini dress silhouette, the predominantly white color, the long puff sleeves, to the large black bow detail in the center of the chest, the overall effect is strikingly similar, leading to debate that goes beyond mere subjective feelings. However, some have pointed out that the biggest difference lies in the material. With OnOnMM, the dress uses multi-layered lace to create a light, delicate, and romantic effect. Meanwhile, SHUSHU/TONG uses draping techniques to create a more structured silhouette, giving it a thicker and more luxurious feel.
According to the timeline mentioned, SHUSHU/TONG's design appeared in the Fall/Winter 2025 collection at Shanghai Fashion Week in late March 2025. As for OnOnMM, the dress called "Lushe Dress" from the Mon Amour Collection was introduced in April 2025, only about a month later. This timeframe is the detail that has fueled the ongoing debate without a definitive conclusion.
