Jack's recent comeback was criticized as "copying" and following Son Tung M-TP when he openly expressed his "arrogant" attitude and used his new song to "diss" anti-fans directly.
Since officially holding a press conference, announcing a new project and frankly facing past love scandals, Jack - J97 has quickly reintegrated into showbiz. He continuously accepted performance schedules, appearing at many large and small music events, most recently in Hanoi. However, this comeback not only marked his active activities, but also attracted strong attention with a completely new attitude, full of arrogance and no hesitation, especially expressed through his latest composition.
At the event, Jack caused a stir with his breakthrough appearance, with outstanding blonde hair and a nude-red outfit decorated with feminine flowers, immediately becoming the topic of discussion among netizens. But the real focus was the new song he brought to the stage. No longer the familiar ballads or pop, this was a "diss track" aimed directly at anti-fans.
The song's content revolves around Jack admitting that he is always the "target" for all criticism, being attacked and attacked unreasonably by anti-fans. The two lyrics immediately became viral, clearly showing his defiance and disdain for those who hate him: "How dare those who don't like me in real life? I sing for fun more than a lifetime of it going to work!". These lyrics show that Jack not only does not avoid but also directly declares war, using music as a tool to fight back.
Son Tung's "Diss" Theory and the Boundaries of the Public Stage
Jack's actions are clearly not unique. Vietnamese artists using music to deal with anti-fans has become a trend, initiated and caused a storm before by big names. Jack seems to be learning this style, especially from Son Tung M-TP - who once caused a stir with his strong "diss" rap intro like "More than 10 years" or the saying "if it's too flop, write my name down" aimed at those who criticize. In addition, tlinh and Phap Kieu are also artists who have followed this path, even releasing "dissing" music that has to be labeled with age restrictions.
Obviously, Jack is making full use of this "diss language" to assert his arrogance and uncompromising stance towards negative public opinion. This is a media and artistic strategy to reposition his image, from a controversial singer to an artist who dares to confront and use his talent to argue.
However, Jack's "playful" strategy quickly crossed cultural boundaries. The most controversial point in the song was the use of a popular "wordplay" on social media - the phrase "whatever..." - to emphasize the message that he was always being blamed. Many demanding audiences strongly objected, saying that putting lyrics that easily evoke vulgar words and violate good customs on the public stage was an offensive act, disrespecting the public.
Although Jack's fans tried to defend, asserting that the full lyrics are "Lao gi cung toi" and have no negative connotation, the intentional use of a famous pun, causing misunderstanding from the very first syllable, has been seen as an undeniable intention.
The question is: when artists express strong personalities and respond to unwarranted attacks, what limits are necessary to avoid bringing about a negative view? While "dissing" music is a valid art form, public stages â where audiences of all ages enjoy it â still require censorship and consideration.
Jack was accused of plagiarism by a Chinese singer, the career was even more tragic?
JLO09:23:22 07/06/2025In the past few days, the legal case between Jack and Thien An has not ended. After Thien An posted a letter of apology to himself, Sol's daughter and Jack, Jack's side had an official response on the fanpage.
