Singer Jack (Trinh Tran Phuong Tuan) was fined 55 million VND, suspended from performing for 9 months for singing songs with inappropriate lyric content, contrary to the fine customs of the nation.

Hanoi, November 7 – The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has officially announced the decision to sanction administrative violations against singer Trinh Tran Phuong Tuan (stage name Jack) and the organizer, The East Entertainment Services Co., Ltd., after a scandal related to the performance at the program "Moonlit Childhood" which took place on 16/10.

The sanctioning decision was made after an urgent and serious verification process, in order to correct art performance activities in the city.

Singer Jack was fined 55 million VND and suspended for 9 months

According to a notice from the Hanoi Department of Culture, singer Jack was administratively sanctioned for the error of "Performing arts using words contrary to the fine customs and customs of the nation, causing negative impacts on morality, public health and social psychology".

Fine level: 55,000,000 VND (Fifty-five million VND). Additional sanction: Suspension of performance activities for a period of 9 months. This additional fine is considered a tough move and a strict warning to artists who behave similarly, causing frustration in public opinion.

The East organizer was also fined 50 million VND

On the same day, November 4, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Culture also issued a decision to sanction administrative violations against The East Entertainment Service Co., Ltd. – the organizer of the program "Childhood under the moonlight" at Cung Xuan stage.

Violation: "Organizing art performances not in accordance with the contents stated in the written approval" of the competent state agency. Fine level: 50,000,000 VND (Fifty million VND).

The verification results show that The East Company has arbitrarily included in the program a song that is not in the list licensed and approved by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Culture. It was this song, with some lyrics that were reflected as not in accordance with fine customs and customs, that caused a strong wave of protests in the audience and the media.

Verification Process and Promise of Remedy

The incident originated from the program "Childhood under the moonlight" on the evening of October 16. Immediately after there were many reflections about inappropriate lyrics in Jack's performance, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Culture urgently entered the verification and handled strictly.

The representative of The East Entertainment Services Co., Ltd. promptly admitted the wrongdoing, accepted responsibility and committed to overcome it, not to let similar incidents happen in the future.

On the side of singer Jack, after the 2nd job offer from the Department, the authorized representative of the male singer, Ms. Tran Thi Cam Loan, came to the Department on the afternoon of October 29. At the meeting, Ms. Loan expressed that both she and Jack were clearly and deeply aware of the violation when performing a song with inappropriate lyrical content, contrary to fine customs and customs, causing a negative impact on the social community.

Ms. Loan also committed that singer Jack would not reoffend, and at the same time expressed her desire for the authorities to create conditions for the male singer to have the opportunity to correct his mistakes and continue artistic activities after the suspension period, committing to strictly comply with legal regulations.
