On the evening of October 18, the final round of Miss Grand International 2025 took place in Bangkok (Thailand) with the competition of 77 contestants. Immediately after the opening round, the Top 22 beauties who entered the next round were determined.

Vietnam's representative - Miss Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi is not on this list.

Before the final night, Miss Yen Nhi said: "This year's contest has gathered many strong contestants, all of whom are worthy and well-prepared. If I'm lucky, I hope I will have an impressive position. For the rest, I will wait for the judges and the Miss Grand International organization to evaluate."

As soon as she was crowned Miss Grand Vietnam 2025, Yen Nhi was expected to be the face that could extend Vietnam's impressive streak of achievements at Miss Grand International, especially when Vietnam had a Miss crown and a 4th Runner-up crown at this contest.

However, the reality went against expectations when the Vietnamese representative soon fell behind in the rankings and failed to create attraction throughout the competition.

Just a few days after joining the competition, Yen Nhi was caught up in a series of side scandals. She was criticized for her poor English skills, revealing her uncontrolled communication style in a phone call that was broadcast live on her roommate's livestream (Tanzania representative).

In the conversation, the beauty was accused of using disrespectful words towards the crew, the audience and the management company. Despite quickly sending a public apology, Yen Nhi's image was heavily affected, causing domestic audiences to "turn their backs".

At Miss Grand International, audience voting always plays an important role, especially in the Miss Popular Vote category - the award that helps contestants go straight to the Top 10.

While previous Vietnamese representatives were always in the top group of votes, Yen Nhi had almost no votes, even the voting rate was at 0%.

The reason is said to come from the public turning their backs on Yen Nhi after her scandal.

The lack of support from fans makes the Vietnamese representative completely "inferior" to opponents from the Philippines, Thailand or Colombia - countries with large fan bases.

On stage, Yen Nhi still tries to maintain a stable performance, standing out with her performance in the National Costume competition "Thang Long Hoi".

However, overall, she has not made a strong enough personal mark to be in the group of outstanding candidates.

Since 2016, Vietnam has always had a representative in the Top 20 of Miss Grand International.

The highest achievement is the Miss Grand International crown (2021) and the 4th runner-up position of Le Hoang Phuong (2023).

Before Yen Nhi, Vo Le Que Anh - Vietnam's representative at Miss Grand International 2024 - also left empty-handed when she did not make it into the Top 20 and did not win any subsidiary prizes.

Aunt Dung then posted: "Nhi has tried very hard, the whole family loves her! Our plan is still very long and there is a lot of work to do."

Yen Nhi posted a congratulatory message to the new beauty queen and the Miss Grand organization. She returned home right after the final night. "After a memorable journey at Miss Grand International 2025, Nhi will fly back to Vietnam today.

Nhi's flight will land at 1:00 p.m., bringing with it many beautiful memories from Thailand and a heart full of love to everyone.
