On March 3, EVERGLOW returned with the EP Code and the theme MV of the same name, marking the first time the group performed with a 4-member lineup.
Last May, the six girls confirmed their departure from Yuehua after the exclusive contract ended. In September, four members including Sihyeon, E:U, Onda, and Aisha were confirmed to have signed a contract with the new management company Chxxta Company to continue pursuing artistic activities.
Yiren and Mia, the 2 members who attracted the most fans, separated solo again. This is considered a great disadvantage for EVERGLOW, especially as K-pop is increasingly regressing, as well as the group's reputation is no longer what it used to be. EVERGLOW does not have a strong fanbase to spend, mainly good music that is liked by the public and attracts passersby. In the midst of the volatile market and the birth of a series of music groups, 2 years of "invisibility" have made EVERGLOW lose its aura.
A clip posted on X attracted a large amount of interaction, recording the sad scene of EVERGLOW on the evening of March 2. It is known that the whole group was present at a location to prepare for the press conference to launch the Code, but there were only a few people around who were reporters taking pictures. Posing in front of the backdrop in the group poster, 4 girls including Sihyeon - Aisha - Onda - EU were even ignored by some passers-by, and didn't bother to care about them. After a few tens of seconds, the group went inside to prepare for the showcase.
Moreover, EP Code only sold 473 copies, a shockingly low number for a girl group that bombarded Kpop around 2018 - 2020. Usually, the first day of disk distribution will record the largest number. Therefore, this is also a signal for a not very successful comeback of EVERGLOW. Although we know that EVERGLOW has never been strong in album sales, partly due to the lack of hardcore fans, this situation speaks a truth: save EVERGLOW.
Not long ago, people were surprised to learn that during their operation, 6 female idols had never received a salary from Yuehua. Ms. Do Hoa, CEO of Yuehua Company, frankly shared: "Because they debuted in Korea, the investment amount for their debut and comeback is so large, that they can't even pay back the reimbursement fee."
Once called a "dinosaur rookie" when he first set foot in Kpop, EVERGLOW was one of the early names that made his mark in the early stages of Gen 4. Not only participating in the wave of paving the way for a new generation of idols, the group is also expected to become one of the girl groups leading the game.
Launched with Bon Bon Chocolat, EVERGLOW quickly made a strong impact. The catchy melody, the cool girl crush concept and the addictive chorus help the song cover all platforms, leading to a series of dance covers from Korea to the world.
By the time of the successive launches of Adios and Dun Dun, EVERGLOW was really classified as a formidable rival of ITZY - a girl group that was at the peak of its performance at that time. In early 2020, the two groups almost "confronted" head-to-head when ITZY released Wannabe and EVERGLOW returned with Dun Dun. Both of them made a big splash, but the paradox is that after that boom, both ITZY and EVERGLOW did not maintain the growth trajectory as expected.
With EVERGLOW, the unfortunate turning point began with La Di Da. Although it was positively evaluated by experts for its retro colors and musical personality, the song did not create a strong enough mass effect to raise the group to a new level. Meanwhile, the girl group market is increasingly cramped with the landing of famous names such as aespa, STAYC, IVE, LE SSERAFIM or NewJeans. In the midst of a wave of rookies who are strong in concept and fandom, the name EVERGLOW gradually "faded". The products released later no longer create as wide coverage as in the early stages.
To date, Dun Dun is still the most iconic hit in the group's career, with more than 301 million views on YouTube, which is enough to show where they once stood on the Kpop map. However, a big hit is not enough to ensure long-term sustainability.
Rosé and Jennie received the most favorable treatment in Blackpink's "Go" music video, with the Vietnamese production team playing a major role.
Đình Như08:00:39 28/02/2026The MV GO and mini-album Deadline marked BLACKPINK's highly anticipated comeback after a long hiatus from releasing a group product, sparking lively discussions among young people and fans worldwide upon their release on February 27, 2026.
