The female buffalo with inverted horns is rare, hugging the whole face like a "living necklace"
The female buffalo with inverted horns hugging her face is becoming a curious phenomenon on social media. Not only because of its rare shape, but also because it has a very lifelong color, very "rural but strange", making many people stop to look at it once after reading.
The horns are "worn like necklaces", looking at them is remembering
In the past few days, the image of a female buffalo with horns curved downwards, closed around the neck has spread strongly on social networks. Viewed horizontally, the horns hug the buffalo's face like a giant necklace, creating a feeling that is both fancy and unbelievable.
The owner of this special buffalo is Mr. Vo Truong (67 years old), who lives in Trung Chanh village, Tam My commune, Da Nang city. According to Mr. Truong, this is a female buffalo he has raised for more than 10 years, since he was little. From the moment the horns began to sprout, he noticed something unusual: the horns did not grow up like other buffaloes, but bowed downwards.
The bigger it gets, the more curved and closed the horns become, gradually hugging the entire face, creating a "unique" appearance. Mr. Zhang joked: "It looks like wearing a necklace, I have raised buffaloes for decades and have never seen anything like it."
Rare but still healthy, normal reproduction
What makes many people more reassured and excited is that this strange-looking buffalo is still living completely normally. Mr. Truong said that this is a breed of female buffalo, raised for breeding. Every year, the buffalo gives birth to a healthy calf, and especially all calves have normally developed horns, without inheriting the "inverted" trait.
In the family's herd of 4 buffaloes, only this one has a strange pair of horns. The other three are all developed according to the "village buffalo standard". That makes Mr. Zhang believe that this is a rare and unique case.
"The buffalo is very obedient and gentle, all day long just grazing and taking care of his children. Thanks to that, he is fat, healthy, and has no diseases," he said.
Gentle as a temperament, non-aggressive, obedient
According to the owner's observation, the ingrown horns also seem to affect the personality of the buffalo. If for many other buffaloes, big, pointed horns are a "weapon" to show strength, this buffalo lives very gently, never aggression or fighting with other animals.
"Maybe it's because the horn grows upside down, so it knows its body and fate," Mr. Zhang said half-jokingly. "He only worries about eating grass, listening to the owner, taking care of the children. It is easy to lead anywhere, not disturbing."
Photographed years ago
Mr. Nguyen Van Thong, a resident of Da Nang City, said that he had seen this buffalo about 4 years ago, when he passed by Mr. Truong's house.
"When I saw the photo of the buffalo going viral on social networks, I immediately recognized it. Because this shape is so strange, once you look at it, you will remember," Mr. Thong shared.
Suddenly famous, the buffalo owner only hopes to raise it until the end of his life
Mr. Zhang admitted that he was quite surprised that his buffalo was so interested in so many people. For him, the buffalo is still just a familiar buffalo every day: in the morning he goes to graze, in the afternoon he goes back to the barn, and in the evening he rests peacefully.
"People ask to buy, ask to see if it's strange, but I don't sell. I will raise it for the rest of my life," he said.
In the midst of noisy stories on social networks, the image of a buffalo with "unique" horns and a simple life in the countryside of Da Nang brings a very different feeling: slow, gentle and full of curiosity. Perhaps it is that rusticism that makes this story touch many people, in a very natural way.
