The story took place in the city of Shangxiao (Jiangxi, China), the couple left more than 200,000 yuan (more than 693 million VND) in cash in their room. Their young child later accidentally found the money. He mistakenly thought these stacks of money were underworld money that people used to burn during ritual occasions. So when his parents weren't home, he took all the cash and poured it into a large basin, then set it on fire.
