Trieu Le Dinh disappoints, Duong Mich unexpectedly "turns the tide" in blockbuster

Although it is expected to be a historical blockbuster following the success of Quoc Sac Phuong Hoa, Cam Tu Phuong Hoa starring Duong Tu and Ly Hien is showing a clear shortfall compared to the common ground.
After more than 1/3 of the broadcast, the achievements that Cam Tu Phuong Hoa achieved made many viewers disappointed and concerned.
Dismal achievements, comprehensive losses
According to recent statistics, Cam Tu Phuong Hoa is showing a disappointing performance compared to initial expectations. Every day, the film only reaches about 20 million views â a rather modest number if placed next to a series of works broadcast at the same time. On the Vlinkage media index ranking â the leading measure of popularity of Chinese dramas â Cam Tu Phuong Hoa only fluctuates around 80 points. Meanwhile, to be classified as a "hot movie", this index must pass the threshold of 85 points. Not stopping there, the film's discussion index on Datawin is also quite low, only ranging from 1.9 to 2.0 â significantly lower than the 2.5 mark that is considered the standard for a hit movie.
Cam Tu Phuong Hoa is not only inferior in terms of views and media indicators, but also completely inferior to a series of direct opponents. The Nhat Mong Book, thanks to its humorous and accessible script, constantly attracts the audience and keeps the coverage stable. Meanwhile, In the Name of Law stands out with a strong cast, solid content and stable ratings. In addition, Naughty Ai â a passionate film that has not been officially broadcast in China â is creating a phenomenon on social networks. With a strong spread on Weibo and continuously reaching the top hotsearch, this work is inadvertently becoming an unexpected "rival" of Cam Tu Phuong Hoa, making the competitive pressure increasingly great.
Disjointed content, disjointed acting
One of the factors that made Cam Tu Phuong Hoa unable to retain the audience was the lack of highlights of the script. Although it was filmed in series with Quoc Sac Phuong Hoa and only separated for technical reasons, the second part feels like a completely different movie. The lack of focus, rambling content and emotional lines are pushed quickly in 24 episodes, making it difficult for the audience to feel the psychological depth of the characters.
Besides, the combination of the two main actors â Duong Tu and Ly Hien â which used to be a bright spot in the previous part, now no longer retains its attractiveness. In the first part, the couple creates a strong effect thanks to their harmony and genuine emotions. However, in the sequel, the audience easily notices the awkwardness and lack of connection between the two actors. Many comments say that the two are "acting for yes", lacking emotional depth, especially in the emotional segments â which used to be a big plus of season one.
The Shadow of Part One and the Lesson of Deviant Investing
Cam Tu Phuong Hoa is currently becoming a typical example of the phenomenon of "part one succeeds, part two fails". The biggest mistake still lies in the writing and content orientation. The film is considered to fall into the "elephant's head and mouse's tail" rut â the later it goes, the more it drowns in logic, lacks emphasis, the rhythm is loose and the emotions are increasingly blurry. Even the director was criticized for not maintaining the image quality and pacing of the film as expected. The scenes that lack investment in depth and atmosphere are not enough to evoke the vibration like the previous part.
Although it was invested up to 320 million yuan (equivalent to about 1,120 billion VND), with the ambition to recreate the prosperous period of the Tang Dynasty with a magnificent background and well-thought-out art design, all those efforts could not make up for the weakness of the content. Many viewers think that the film is trying to "force the audience to love", even though it itself no longer retains the soul that once made it successful.
Currently, the road ahead of Cam Tu Phuong Hoa is becoming blurry. When the negative feedback increases day by day, the achievement does not change significantly and the competition is getting stronger, the film is in danger of being "drowned" as soon as it is not halfway through the broadcast.
Once expected to be the "ace" of the summer of Yangtze, but until now, Cam Tu Phuong Hoa is struggling to keep the little attention left from the audience. This is a clear warning: previous success is not a guaranteed ticket for the sequel if the content is not attractive enough and the creative direction is not invested in the right place.
