In the last two days, the online community couldn't help but be stirred by the story of a farmer from Gia Lai province who brought Tet apricots to Nghe An to sell but almost fell into a situation empty-handed because of a "goods bomb".
Accordingly, the incident occurred on the section of Do Lac – Khanh Hop Area, Khanh Hop commune, Nghe An province and quickly spread on many large forums and fanpages, attracting special attention from the public. According to the information shared, the farmer in the story is Mr. Dang Dinh Tuan (born 1973, residing in An Nhon Bac ward, Gia Lai province).
In the days leading up to Tet, Mr. Tuan traveled a long distance from the Central Highlands to Nghe An with the desire to sell a few dozen apricot trees to have money to pay for life and take care of Tet for his family. He set up an apricot selling point near the Cho Hom area, Cua Lo - where there are many people passing by.
A large fanpage on social networks posted a story that made many people sad. Accordingly, at this point of sale, a middle-aged man stopped by to buy two apricot trees from Mr. Tuan. The customer said he would take one tree home first, then come back to get the second tree and pay for both trees at the same time. Believing the promise of the guest, Mr. Tuan agreed to let this person carry the apricot tree.
However, an hour and then two hours passed, and the guest still did not return. All that night, the second apricot tree was still lying bare in the rain at the point of sale, and the money from the sale of the tree was silent. According to local people, during the waiting period, Mr. Tuan still held out hope that the guest was only "busy with unexpected work", so he did not have time to return to pay.
The story quickly spread widely on social networks, leading to a series of comments expressing frustration and outrage at the buyer's unconscious behavior. Many people think that taking advantage of the honesty of farmers, especially in the time near Tet, is difficult to accept.
However, the development of the incident after that made public opinion somewhat calm. As soon as the story was widely shared, the customer who was said to have bought two apricot trees took the initiative to go to the point of sale to apologize to Mr. Tuan and pay the entire missing amount. This person said that due to personal negligence, he forgot to send money, and at the same time apologized and hoped that Mr. Tuan would ignore the incident.
Regarding the incident, on the morning of February 9, talking to reporters, Mr. Dang Dinh Tuan confirmed that he had received back the full amount of money from the sale of apricot trees. "Last night, someone came to apologize and asked to return the money for the apricot tree. Currently, I just hope to sell all the remaining trees to return to my hometown soon to celebrate Tet. I thank the local people for their interest and coming to buy apricots to support," Mr. Tuan shared.
Notably, after learning that Mr. Tuan was late in payment, many locals came to the apricot selling point to buy support. Not only buying apricots, some people also send more money, considering helping farmers have a little more capital to cover living expenses and soon return to their hometown to reunite with their families during the Tet holiday.
The image of a farmer diving from Gia Lai to Nghe An to sell apricots in the middle of cold and rainy days, and the happy ending of the story has touched many netizens. Many comments said that, although there are still unflattering behaviors in society, the kindness and gratitude of the community are always present, especially in the approaching Tet holidays.
